MEAL PLANNING

Weekly Meal Plan – January 21st-27th

This week’s meal plan wasn’t initially what I had written down, because I figured we could find cheaper recipes than all those with fish and seafood. Instead, we’re going to be eating the following meals:

If you haven’t seen any of our Weekly Meal Plan posts yet, then I’ll just let you know that I would normally check and compare all the weekly flyers to find the best deals, but since we’re doing a No Spending Month I won’t bother because we are limiting our purchases from Superstore – where we still have $50 worth of gift cards leftover from Christmas, $50 worth of groceries from PC Points – and Costco. I actually just received my Rewards Coupon back from Costco so we have plenty of free money at both stores!

So now that we know where we’ll be shopping, it’s time to make a list of all the ingredients needed for our 7 meals, and put our grocery list in bold font.

Ingredients:

  • Chili Powder
  • Cumin
  • Paprika
  • Cayenne
  • Coriander
  • Olive Oil
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Red Pepper
  • Orange Pepper
  • Corn
  • Diced Tomatoes (Omg, I need to do a bit of stock piling, I just ran out!)
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Spinach
  • Black Beans
  • Basmati Rice
  • Cheese
  • Avocado
  • Tortilla Chips
  • Tilapia Fish
  • Thai Red Curry Paste
  • Pasta Shells
  • Brocoli
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Cauliflower
  • Flour
  • Bread Crumbs
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Potatoes
  • Carrot
  • Cauliflower
  • Vegetable Broth
  • Oregano
  • Cream Cheese
  • Macaroni
  • Cream of Mushroom
  • Tuna
  • Peas

So now we look at everything that was in bold font and make ourselves a grocery list.

Grocery List:

  • Red Pepper
  • Orange Pepper
  • Diced Tomatoes*
  • Cheese
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Cauliflower

We should be good for snacks on the most part because I used some points to buy a few snacks mid-week last week. I might buy some Bits & Bites again because they were on sale and I would rather snack on that then continue eating the cookie dough I have in the freezer.

What’s on your menu this week? Let us know in the comments!
